Northern Kentucky Soccer Academy

YDA stands for Youth Development Academy

NKSA YDA is a coed program open to any player born Jan 1, 2010-Dec 31, 2012

Why the NKSA YDA works?  The NKSA YDA teaches our youngest players the FUNdamentals of the game.  We want to instill a love of the game while teaching the building blocks necessary for players to succeed at a high level when they are older.  Without the pressure of league standings and official game results, players learn good practice habits and skills. Players still learn how to "win" while developing soccer skills through the various small sided games and matches they play as part of the YDA, but the program will always focus on allowing players the opportunity to be creative and try new skills without fear of failure.

On a recreational team already?
The YDA is a great supplement to recreational soccer.  Players receive professional training and skill development without leaving their current recreational team.  The YDA will keep a very flexible training schedule with the same or similar themes taught for an entire week so players can attend the sessions that are convenient for their schedule and not miss their team practice

How Does the YDA work?

NKSA's YDA program is setup to provide flexibility so that families can determine how much they want their child to take on.

Practice Sessions are offered three days per week, at three different sites throughout our Northern Kentucky program area. Players can attend all or any of the practice sessions, and can vary attendance week-to-week as needed.

Game Days provide the opportunity for fun, fair competition between participants regardless of where or when they are practicing and without the drama of league standings. Game Days are held on Sundays, with teams determined on site.  Play is typically 3v3 to 5v5.  Teams play multiple games over the 60 minute period under the guidance of the NKSA staff.  As with our practice sessions, Game Day locations rotate so that each of our sites hosts Game Days.  Families also have the option to register for Game Day Only if they are unable to attend Practice Sessions.
